Svenska landsmål och svenskt folkliv
ISSN 0347-1837

Svenska landsmål och svenskt folklivSwedish Dialects and Folk Traditions is one of Sweden’s oldest cultural journals, founded in 1878 by Johan August Lundell and published since 1997 by the Royal Gustavus Adolphus Academy for Swedish Folk Culture. Since 2016 it has been published in collaboration with the Institute for Language and Folklore.

Svenska landsmål och svenskt folkliv welcomes, on the one hand, contributions in the fields of cultural history, ethnology and folklore studies and, on the other, linguistic contributions relating to spoken Swedish and other Scandinavian languages, in areas such as dialectology, dialect geography, sociolinguistics, contact linguistics, phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax etc., together with lexical and etymological studies.

As well as research articles, the journal publishes broader surveys, opinion pieces, short contributions of various kinds, and reviews. Each issue also includes a survey of recently published literature in the field of dialectology.

Submissions are reviewed by the editors and, in an anonymised form, by two anonymous peer reviewers.
